These are the comments of Yoshihiro Togashi when Level E was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1995 to 1997. In Japanese, Chinese, & English. Enjoy~

I wanted to handle it all by myself, so it became a monthly series. It’ll pop up when you’ve forgotten about it. Please read it casually and enjoy.

Shonen Jump 1995 Issue #42(No.001 An alien on the planet)

I started this series thinking I’d do everything alone, but filling in blacks and applying screentones is seriously tough… What am I going to do…?

(No.002 Run after the man!)

I’m getting elbow pain that I never experienced even during my weekly serialization days. Why is that? …Oh, it’s because of that double-page spread.

(No.003 Risky game!)

New Year’s Resolutions:

(1) Turn in manuscripts without staying up all night.

(2) Stop impulse buying (especially games).

(3) Clean my room.

(No.004 From the darkness)

I bought some psychology/mental health books and did a self-diagnosis. The result was 'needs attention.' Hey, that’s an improvement over before.

(No.005 Crime of nature...!)

I bought a sentai team encyclopedia for the current story. The auntie at the bookstore gave me such a strong stare…

(No.006 Here come Color ranger!!)

Just for the record, the monsters from this series do not appear in the RPG Maker software. Just saying.

(No.007 Dancing in the trap!!)

Editor Y (Yahagi) is in Malaysia right now as I’m writing this. Please bring back those souvenirs we talked about.

(No.008 The crying game)

I bought Volume 9 of Inakappe at the convenience store and found a booger smeared across 6 pages. I ran to the bookstore crying.

(No.009 Game over...!?)

Personally, I think "jealousy" is just a matter of individual differences, so I feel some resistance toward that particular kanji.

(No.010 You're my darling!)

I found out it takes 30 minutes by train and 20 minutes by bike from my house to the studio. But of course it’s rainy season right now…

(No.011 Love me tender)

Went to Osaka for research. Bought a Chinese-made game as a souvenir. My assistant immediately jumped in and started playing. All good.

(No.012 Field of dreams!)

My bike was stolen in the 30 seconds I looked away. It was the 5th one I’ve bought, and I’d only had it for 3 days.

(No.013 Escape from!!)

It’s finally the season where hot morning coffee tastes really good. (Though my mornings usually start after 4 PM.)

(No.014 Boy meets girl)

After buying my own bowling ball, my average score shot up more than 20 points. Might as well aim for 200 average now!

(No.015 Full moon...!)

Before I knew it, the year was already over. So with that, this is the end. Let’s meet again someday.

Spy x Family's Tatsuya Endo & Shihei Lin Interview

It was about 13 years ago that Mr. Endo, who started drawing manga at a young age, met his current editor, Mr. Lin. SPY×FAMILY is the third series they've worked on together, and it's now an extremely popular series that has sold over 8 million copies through six volumes. In this interview, we'll be talking to the two members of this tag team. --- Endo's serialization debut was in "JUMP SQ." How did the two of you first meet? Tatsuya Endo : "I met Mr. Lin at the start of "TISTA" (his serial debut work from 2007). I submitted my first work to Jump magazine when I was in my first year of high school and later did in my second year. So Mr. Lin is the third person I've met since then. He was the first person younger than me, and when I first met him, I thought I was getting a light-hearted person (laughs). "TISTA" was set in New York, so we took a trip to NYC for an interview. Mr. Lin had just started his career, so it was like a tr...

Who is Time Paradox Ghostwriter's Kenji Ichima?

Who is Kenji Ichima? As far as we know, he is the writer for the new series in Weekly Shonen Jump, Time Paradox Ghostwriter which can be read on Viz or Manga Plus .            Some might wonder though if he wrote something else that was published and in fact, he did!            On January 6, 2019, Shonen Jump Plus published a one-shot manga titled " Shisaku Shinwa " (Prototype Myth) which can be read free on the site in Japanese only.            Kenji Ichima tweeted about this saying "We posted Prototype Myth at Jump Plus! It seems to be a strange manga, but please read it! I'm sorry if it's boring!" This is the first published manga under the name "Kenji Ichima" but it isn't HIS first published manga. Going back to May 2014, Ichima-sensei's started out with another pen name "市真 時系 (Jikei Ichima)" where his manga "Loser Game" won an honorable mention for the 83rd Treasure ...
