Hunter x Hunter's Netero vs Meruem statue is here!

After a long wait and with so many teasers, the full reveal of the Netero vs Meruem figure statue created by Figurama is finally here!

From Figurama:

The world premiere Hunter x Hunter statue by Figurama Collectors portrays the cataclysmic duel between the two most powerful characters—Chimera Ant King Meruem and the grand master of the Shingen-ryū school of kung fu, Netero. The 76.2 cm high (30 inch) battlefield explodes in a cloud of blinding debris beneath a giant Ninety-Ninth Hand palm strike, revealing a Gungi board—symbolic of the Chimera Ant Arc’s emotional climax and Meruem’s special connection with Komugi.

In true 1/6 scale, the second installment in the Figurama Collectors Elite Fandom series is its most visually complex yet, spanning a massive 76.2 cm x 69.9 cm (30 inches x 27.5 inches) diorama that surpasses most 1/4 scale statues. Rounding out a layered and lifelike color scheme, Netero’s Bodhisattva arms are finished with majestic antique gold paint and translucent tips that convey their blurring speed in dynamic glory. An alternative expression allows collectors to depict the master of Nen with his eyes closed in prayerful concentration, focusing on Meruem’s attacks. The finishing touch is a gilded base with wrought iron-like details, encircled by the names “Netero” and “Meruem” spelled in the Hunter x Hunter alphabet, accurately translated from their original kanji.

Update: Since the server crashed from so many people on it (people love their hunter x hunter), Figurama had decided to reschedule the date to to March 16, 2019 11pm JST (March 15th 10am EST). Now, instead of 800, there will be 1,200 statues available! Also, based on fan suggestions, Meruem's helmet colors got tweaked.

And with 1,200 statues costing over $800, all of them sold out in about 7 hours making it Figurama's fastest selling statue yet.

Spy x Family's Tatsuya Endo & Shihei Lin Interview

It was about 13 years ago that Mr. Endo, who started drawing manga at a young age, met his current editor, Mr. Lin. SPY×FAMILY is the third series they've worked on together, and it's now an extremely popular series that has sold over 8 million copies through six volumes. In this interview, we'll be talking to the two members of this tag team. --- Endo's serialization debut was in "JUMP SQ." How did the two of you first meet? Tatsuya Endo : "I met Mr. Lin at the start of "TISTA" (his serial debut work from 2007). I submitted my first work to Jump magazine when I was in my first year of high school and later did in my second year. So Mr. Lin is the third person I've met since then. He was the first person younger than me, and when I first met him, I thought I was getting a light-hearted person (laughs). "TISTA" was set in New York, so we took a trip to NYC for an interview. Mr. Lin had just started his career, so it was like a tr...

Aka Akasaka & Mengo Yokoyari 2022 Oshi no Ko Interview

Relief and anticipation for the anime adaptation --Congratulations on the decision to make an anime version of Oshi no Ko. How did you feel when you learned of the decision to make an anime? Aka Akasaka: I was happy. But since Mengo-san was in charge of drawing the pictures, I naturally thought it would be made into an anime. Mengo Yokoyari: I also thought it would be animated since it is based on Aka sensei's original work (laughs). (laughs) -- So both of you had anime adaptation in mind. Yokoyari: However, I am very happy to hear that it will be made into an anime. Akasaka: I am happy and relieved at the same time. We both have experience with anime adaptations of serialized works, so we both felt that it would be a disaster if the anime didn't get made even though we both have people who can stand on their own feet. Yokoyari: That's right. If the work of Aka Akasaka, the genius manga artist at the moment, were not made into an anime, I would feel that it was my fault. So...
